I had this very vivid idea of a city street come into my head one day, and I thought it would be really cool if I could manage to draw it. However, my process with digital art didn’t feel quite right for the idea in my head.
After a few days deliberation, I thought I would try attempting the drawing with a traditional medium. I sketched the drawing with willow charcoal, did an underpainting with watercolor, and after coating the drawing in clear gesso to give the paper more grit, I began layering up the chalk pastel. The final details were drawn in with colored pencil.
Amazingly, the finished drawing is very similar to the original idea in my head.
